Lilly's House is a 501 C3 Non-Profit Charity that was founded by Hank Ford, in honor of his partents Lillian and Herbert Ford. Lillian, a beloved mother and gradmother was known for her open heart and welcoming home. "Lillys House"
Along with her husband Herbert Ford, who was a World War II Navy Veteran, they were both proud Americans who inspred their own children and those around them with their love for our country and deep respect for those who served in our Military. With their great love for children they equally admired those who served this great nation, especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the United States of America and provide a secure future for our children.
Lilly’s House has partnered with an organization called A Soldier’s Child.
The Lilly's House Award is given to individual mentors from the ASC for their contribution to other children members in the organization. Once a child turns 18, he or she has the opportunity to stay with the organization to become a mentor. ASC will select the individuals who have given back the most and meet the Lilly's House Award criteria.
The selectees will receive a plaque recognizing their work with the ASC Foundation and Honoring their fallen solider. They will receive a once in a life time all expenses paid hunting trip.
The mission of A Soldier's Child is to serve the Children of ALL fallen military personnel, who have lost their lives on active duty and post service-related deaths that were due to a service-related injury or illness.
ASC has three points of service for the chlldren of our fallen:
1) Birthday Celebrations: We celebrate our recipient's birthdays every year up to age 18 by providing birthday gifts (birthday celebration packages). We currently serve over 4,000 children. A group of volunteers meets monthly to shop, wrap, and ship birthday presents for the kids.
2) Mentorship programs: These mentorship programs offer our recipient children the opportunity to come together for a week of recreation and relationship-building where they form lifelong bonds with other fallen soldiers' children. Educating them that they are not alone in their grief and brokenness gives them the courage and strength to go on.
3) College Scholarships: ASC facilitates in college scholarships for $1,000 and up to $35,000 for our ASC recipients through our partner organization, The Folded Flag Foundation.
A Soldier's Child Foundation is completely dependent on volunteers around our great nation. Many are the children themselves. A Soldier's Child Foundation was established to stand by the children of the military men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our lives and our country's freedom.
A Soldier’s Child will be providing two of their youth with counselors that have experienced the same loss as the children that they mentor.
